Curly and frizzy hair is difficult to manage. Another difficulty that almost all of us have face is bad hair day. We resort to hair styling products like hair gels which will keep our hair in place. But these products have chemicals which can make the hair drier and result in breakage. It is therefore better to make hair gels at home which can nourish the hair and also help in managing hair. Mentioned below are 2 recipes for home made hair gels.
Recipe Using Flaxseeds:
Flax seeds moisturize hair and also have several nourishing nutrients like omega 3 fatty acids, vitamins, copper, manganese, selenium, magnesium etc which nourish the hair.
¼ th cup flaxseeds, 2 cups of clean water and one tablespoon of aloe vera gel
Soak flax seeds in water overnight. Next morning take the flaxseeds and water in a pan and heat the mixture. When the mixture starts boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for few minutes till you get a thick gel like consistency mixture. Strain the mixture and cool it. You can now add the aloe vera gel. (This is optional).Take a little gel and rub it on the palms and apply it to damp or dry hair. Store the gel in the refrigerator. It has shelf life of one week.
Recipe Using Dried Lavender Flowers, Gelatin And Water:
Lavender herb is good for all types of hair. It is known to nourish hair and helps in keeping hair shiny.
½ cup of dried lavender flowers, water and ¼ th teaspoon of gelatin
Boil water and pour it over the dried lavender flowers and let the mixture steep for 20 minutes. Cool and strain the mixture. Take half cup of this lavender herb infused water .Heat it and add the gelatin .Mix well. Keep it in the refrigerator for three hours so that it sets well. Take the gel on palms and apply it to damp or dry hair. This gel has a shelf life of about one to two weeks in the refrigerator.
