5 DIY Homemade Hand Sanitizers to Keep Infections And Germs at Bay

Please note that every one of these hand sanitizers has rubbing alcohol and vitamin E oil as a part of its ingredient. Rubbing alcohol is needed as they are effective in killing germs and can help in keeping the mix together. Vitamin E oil has properties that can soften the harshness of the rubbing alcohol. You can alternate Vitamin E oil with vegetable glycerin if needed.

1. Cinnamon and Clove Hand Sanitizer:

Cinnamon and cloves equally have antibacterial and antiseptic properties. They can be very beneficial in stopping the spread of germs and infections in your hand. To make the sanitizer, add 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol to a cup of distilled water. Add half a teaspoon of Vitamin E oil to it and mix well.

To this mixture add a teaspoon of ground cinnamon powder and a teaspoon of clove powder. If needed, you can add Cinnamon essential oil or clove oil alternatively. Now stir the contents and strain the water into a small spray bottle. Your very own sanitizer is ready for use now.

2.  Aloe Vera Hand Sanitizer:

Aloe Vera gel has loads of antibacterial agents in them and can effectively help in moisturizing your skin. To make the sanitizer, add 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol and half a teaspoon of Vitamin E oil to a cup of distilled water. Now add one tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel and mix well. Strain the contents into a spray bottle and before closing the lid add a few drops of rosemary oil for fragrance and shake well. The sanitizer is ready to use.

3. Eucalyptus oil Hand Sanitizer:

This is one of the easiest sanitizers to make at home and can be used especially if you like the flavor of eucalyptus oil. Add 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol and half a teaspoon of Vitamin E oil to a cup of water and mix well. Now add 5 to 6 drops of eucalyptus oil to it. Do not add more drops, as eucalyptus oil may cause a pungent smell to your hand. Now add in 5 drops of clove essential oil, stir well and transfer it to a spray bottle. Before using shake the bottle so that the oil gets mixed equally.

4. Tea Tree Oil Hand Sanitizer:

Tea tree oil is laden with properties that can be very beneficial in eradicating bacteria and germs from your hand. The oil actually forms an important part in many of the soap products across the globe. To make the sanitizer add 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol and half a teaspoon of Vitamin E oil to a cup of water and mix well.

Add about 10 drops of tea tree oil and about 5 drops of rosemary essential oil to the mixture, mix well and strain it into a spray bottle. Shake the bottle well before every use. Also, a very minuscule percentage of the population may be allergic to tea tree oil. Do use this sanitizer only if you don’t have any allergic reactions.

5. Argan Oil Hand Sanitizer:

If you are suffering from sweaty and oily hands, then this can be the best sanitizer to try. Aragan oil can be a great moisturizer for your skin. Use 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol and mix them to half a teaspoon of vitamin E oil in a cup of water. Add about 8 drops of aragan oil and half a tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel to the mixture.

Mix the contents well, strain and transfer the solution to a spray bottle. Shake well before using them on your hand. Add Aragan oil only in lesser quantities as many drops can stick to your hand and you might need to wash them separately.
