I suffer from impetigo every other month… so I’m always looking for quick remedies. I’ve tried them all!! The one that works straight away for me is Garlic!! I crush the garlic through a press, pure it into a bowl then crush it even more with a spoon.. add some olive oil… I leave it to stand so the garlic mixes with the oil… I use a cotton bud or cotton wool to apply it… There’s no need to put the garlic pieces on your face because the juices are in the oil…. Believe me it stops the impetigo spreading… its the only thing I’ve found that actually works… apply as often as possible.. Every hour. . Works wonders…

    • Curious to see if you still believe the garlic works? Will it get rid of it or just stop spreading? Do you still suffer from recurring impetigo? I am researching on Garlic baths now. I’ve had impetigo for 6 weeks and has been recurring :/

Will garlic powder work? My nose was red around the edges & I just thought it was because I had a runny nose. Then I woke up with drool on the sides of my mouth. (all this after a sore, scratchy throat) Now the sides of my mouth are red, itchy & have scabbed over. The sides of my nose too. (oh so gross) & now its time to see every one for thanksgiving. (great timing) no health ins so, it’l have to be home remedies. I wonder if old rx creams that my mother in law gave me will work? I didn’t see any blisters, but this sounds about right.
