5 Ways To Use Baking Soda To Clear Acne

Although baking soda is best known for its role as a leavening agent, it is also used in skin care recipes. It is known to help in clearing acne. Baking soda or sodium bicarbonate is known for its mild antiseptic property, which makes it a suitable agent for destroying the acne-causing bacteria. Baking soda also acts as a drying agent for the excessive oily skin. By absorbing the excess oil from the skin, it helps in minimizing clogging of pores, which triggers acne breakouts. When applied on acne, it helps in drying out the pus-filled bumps on the skin, thereby helping in clearing the breakout in a short time.
