All minor wounds can be easily taken care of at home, with a few easy home remedies. You just need to be careful and look after the wound in the right way, so that there are no complications. Here are some easy ways to take care of wounds at home.

This is the first step to take care of wounds. You need to clean the wound properly using an antiseptic soap and clean water, remove any gathered dust or other particles. This will ensure there is quick relief. All minor wounds can be cleaned with distilled water, which is pure water to remove debris or bacteria.

Coconut oil is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It is a good anti-bacterial agent, it helps in moisturizing the skin and takes care of wounds at a faster rate. This oil helps in keeping infections away and also reduces scarring. You need to apply pure coconut oil on the wound. You can then cover it up with bandage and seal it well, so that the moisture remains well inside. You can again reapply coconut oil. Doing this two or three times in a day is quite effective.

Apply Garlic

Garlic is also used far and wide for its antimicrobial and antibiotic properties. Garlic application will help in reducing pain, stop bleeding and will hasten the healing process. Garlic also helps in boosting the natural defense of the body which reduces chances of further infections. For this, you need to crush some fresh garlic cloves. Prepare a paste. Spread this fresh paste on a sterile gauze. Let this gauze remain on the wound. You can then use the gauze to wrap up the wound. Let it remain on the wound for at least 30 minutes. You can then wash it away using warm water. If you repeat this twice in a day, it will help.

If there is a burning sensation in the wound, you can pour in cold water which helps in cooling off the area. This will not only remove dust and dirt, it will also help in reducing the pain, burning sensation and inflammation. Cool water offers instant relief from the pain.

Apply Raw Potato

Raw potato juice is rich in fluid. It is rich in vitamin C and acids. It helps to moisturize the area and helps in quick healing. You need to grate at least two raw potatoes. You can then spread them over a clean cloth. Fold this cloth to form a small rounded bag like structure, just as you fold in to prepare ice compress. You can this place this cloth, with the raw potato juice or pulp on the wound. Let this remain on the wound for at least 5 hours before you remove it. You can then clean your wound with clean warm water. Apply this again in a few hours.

Turmeric is a natural antiseptic with antibiotic properties. It takes care of minor wounds successfully and reduces all infections. You need two spoonfuls of turmeric powder, mixed with cold water or milk as per convenience. Prepare a paste and apply it directly on your wounds. Applying this mixture everyday helps in getting relief in a short time.
