The vitamin C in lemon protects the area around the eyes and its astringent and bleaching properties help in lightening the skin tone. Squeeze out the juice of a lemon and apply it around the eyes and leave for 10-15 minutes. Wash off. Lemon juice can be mixed with gram flour, tomato juice or mint leaves and applied below the eyes.
Honey contains antimicrobial properties hence will relieve itching and allergies that could be causing the dark circles. It has skin lightening elements that help in making the complexion fair, so it can be applied around the eyes slowly and left for 1 minutes of even overnight.
The gel of an aloe vera leaf can work wonders on any kind of skin marks and blemishes. It should be applied twice a day on the affected area and doing this regularly for a month will show results.
Almond oil is one of the best home remedies for under eye treatment. Almond oil can be massaged very lightly and slowly with fingertips around the eyes for 10 minutes, before sleeping every day. The vitamins in almond oil provide nourishment to the capillaries under the skin and strengthen them. It also has skin lightening properties and regular application reduces the marks significantly.
The bleaching properties of tomato juice is very effective in reducing marks and under eye circles. Apply the juice of a tomato around the eyes and leave it for 1/2 hour, add some lemon juice for added benefits. Rinse and moisturise lightly. The juice of a grated potato can be applied around the eyes and left for a while or overnight. The juice applied under eyes will not only lighten the skin but also reduce the puffiness in the eyes. Leave overnight for quicker results.

Milk contains enzymes that naturally bleach the under eye skin and fade away the marks. The healthy fats in cold milk moisturise the skin and the provide a soothing and cooling effect. Massage lightly before bedtime and leave it on the skin overnight.
