If you are using fresh rose hips, rinse the rose hips to remove all traces of dirt. Pour water in a pan and bring it to a boil. When the water starts boiling, add the rose hips and reduce the heat. On low heat simmer the rose hips for up to 15 minutes. Strain the liquid. Press the rose hips to extract all the juices. Mix honey with the liquid.
Rose Hip Syrup With Cinnamon And Cloves
To prepare the rose hip syrup you will need a cup of fresh rose hips, half a cup of sugar, one cinnamon stick, 4 to 5 cloves and two cups of water. Cinnamon and cloves, apart from adding flavor to the syrup, enhances its healing property.
How To Make
In a saucepan, pour water and add the rose hips, cloves and cinnamon stick. Simmer on low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Strain the mixture and pour the liquid in the pan. Add sugar and stir to dissolve it in the liquid. Simmer the liquid for 10 minutes. Preserve the syrup in a clean bottle.
