Having gas is a terrible feeling. Extreme gas, moreover, can lead to even very painful sensations that are sure to make you regret that last meal – or your diet in general. Gas (and bloating) is generally caused by, among other things, a bad diet, infection or stress – few things are worse than gas during that important interview or exam! To save you from this problem, here are 10 of tips to make that sensation go away faster than light!
Ginger – Chew It Or Drink It
Ginger greatly helps with stopping gas from forming. You can either chew a piece of ginger after a meal or make some ginger tea – it is recommended to drink around 3 cups per day.
Asafetida is a strong remedy that helps dissipate gas already formed. The easiest way to do this is by either adding a pinch of asafetida to a glass of warm water and drinking it (2-3 times a day) or by making a paste and applying it on your stomach
Baking Soda And Lemon
This combination makes for an effective anti-acid. Here’s how it’s done: squeeze a whole lemon and put the juice in a glass. Add some baking soda and wait for it to fizz. Add water until the baking soda dissipates. Be careful to drink this remedy slowly!
If you’re looking for something quick to get you rid of that gas, just chew some peppermint leaves. Otherwise, put approximately two drops of peppermint in a glass of water and drink this mixture 2 times a day.
Another popular remedy is cinnamon, which is a quick remedy and, if used regularly, prevents gas problems in the future as well! Get some milk, preferably low-fat and add a teaspoon of cinnamon. Add some honey and mix it well. Drink it slowly and enjoy the rest of your day!
It doesn’t matter if you drink dandelion tea or shred the roots and put it in your food as a flavor addition, dandelion remains strong. It is important to use actual dandelion roots to make the tea, not just some extract.
Apple Cider Vinegar
One very popular misconception is that indigestion (and therefore gas) is caused by acid being too abundant in our stomach. False. The exact opposite is true, however and this is how apple cider vinegar helps – by putting much needed acid in the stomach.
Chamomile is most commonly consumed as a tea and that’s exactly what you should do if you want to get rid of gas. Add a bit of lemon and honey for taste, if you prefer. It’s bound to get rid of gas if consumed daily!
Carom seeds are one of the oldest remedy for anything stomach related, including gas. In fact, for a quick solution, 5-10 carom seeds should be eaten, along with a glass of water with a little bit of salt inside for afterwards. Ta-da! No more gas!
Let It Out
The quickest and easiest solution is to simply…let it out. Keeping gas in does not help at all and only helps to improve nervousness and stress! Go to a bathroom and let it out! Although not the greatest idea, depending on the situation you’re in, it’s the quickest fix ever!
