Pimples are blemishes which are caused by acne. If the acne gets bad, the pimples can get painful and swell. Acne or pimples often start with one’s teenage years when the skin produces a lot of oil, more than necessary. It mainly occurs on face, back and chest for this areas consist of a lot of oil glands. Now if the skin has a lot of oils and blocks the pores, bacteria or gems grow on them. These cause the swollen and red pimples.
However this isn’t the only cause of pimples. Often certain medicines also cause it. Talk to your doctor to know of any side effects that a medicine might have on your skin. Drinks like soda and junk food like pizza do not exactly cause pimples.
It is true that pimples are common and is a regular skin issue which affects the majority. But having pimples is painful and it also embarrasses us. These are also often the effect of skin irritation. As we have said earlier that the skin glands produces excessive oils, the glands get irritated somehow and began producing a lot of oil. This causes saturation of the gland and that results in pimples. We here have brought some effective and simple steps to reduce pimples.
This can be good for a pimple which hasn’t resulted in pus yet. Ice reduces the swelling and prevents oil from coming out from the glands. Thus the pimple is not able to produce pus and affect the bacteria and germ on the skin to cause raised area. You can wrap the ice in a piece of cloth and press it against the affected area for some time. Then wait for some time and again repeat the process. Applying the ice more than a few times in the day on the pimples will help in reducing it within a day or two.
Honey is a natural antibiotic which can help in fast reducing of the healing of the affected area and prevent further infections as well. You can dip a clean piece of cotton in honey and apply it directly on the area that has the pimple and then leave it for 30 minutes and then wash it with lukewarm water. You can also have a mixture of honey with cinnamon and apply on the pimples at bedtime. You will notice the inflammation or the swelling to reduce to a great extent the following day. Wash your skin with cold water in the morning.
Lemon is yet another way to reduce pimples. Fresh lemon juice if applies will greatly reduce the pimples. It consists of citric acid which works as an antiseptic and kills the bacteria present in the gland. You can dip cotton in lemon juice and apply over the area or make a paste of lemon with cinnamon at night and apply before going to bed. This is effective but you must not do it if you have a sensitive skin.
Garlic helps in fast reduction of pimples. It has antiseptic and antifungal properties. There is also sulphur i garlic which helps in the reduction of the pimples. You can cut fresh garlic in two pieces and rub each piece on the affected areas and leave for a few minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. This can be repeated several times in a day. Garlic can be eaten raw as well and it is known to purify blood. But too much of raw garlic will cause stomach upset. Thus everything should be used within a limit.
