5 Best Ways To Use Coconut Oil To Treat Dandruff

Coconut oil is one of the best natural oils for the hair. It moisturizes and nourishes the tresses and helps in getting rid of dandruff. Coconut oil is an excellent anti-fungal agent. Applying coconut oil to the scalp helps in suppressing growth of the Malassezia yeasts that live on the scalp. Overgrowth of the yeast is a common cause of dandruff. It irritates the scalp, which triggers excess shedding of the skin and causes dandruff. Dandruff also occurs when your scalp becomes too dry. Coconut oil is an excellent moisturizing remedy for the dry scalp. With frequent use, coconut oil leaves your hair dandruff-free. Moreover, it strengthens the hair follicles, repairs damaged hair and promotes hair growth.

Here Is How You Can Use Coconut Oil To Treat Dandruff:

1. Hot Coconut Oil Treatment

The simplest way to treat dandruff with coconut oil is to apply warm coconut oil to the scalp. Leave the oil on your scalp and hair at least for an hour. Wrap your hair with a warm towel. The heat helps your scalp to absorb the oil. After an hour wash your hair with your regular shampoo.
