Garlic is highly valued for its healing properties. It is commonly used for reducing cholesterol level, improving the health of the heart and for fighting infections. But do you know that garlic is also good for the health of your skin? The antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties of garlic help in healing acne and provide fast relief from whiteheads and blackheads.
Instead of spending your money on an expensive cosmetic treatment, you can add garlic to your homemade facial masks to get rid of the whiteheads and blackheads and unclog the skin pores. Furthermore, garlic face masks contain antioxidants that help in keeping the skin firm.
Garlic, Oatmeal And Honey
Crush two cloves of garlic and mix it with one tablespoon of ground oatmeal and one tablespoon of honey. Apply the paste to your face and gently massage the skin especially the areas containing the blackheads and whiteheads for about 60 seconds. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
Garlic And Fuller’s Earth
Mix two crushed garlic cloves with three teaspoons of Fuller’s earth or Kaolin clay. Add a teaspoon of glycerin and a teaspoon of lemon juice to the mixture. Blend well to make a thick paste. Spread the paste on your face and gently exfoliate for about 60 seconds. Wash off with warm water.
Garlic And Egg White
Beat the white of an egg until it becomes slightly frothy. Add two crushed garlic cloves, one teaspoon of honey and one teaspoon of lemon or orange juice. Mix the ingredients thoroughly. Spread it on your face. When the mask dries out wipe your face with a damp cloth. Wash off with lukewarm water.
Garlic And Sugar
Mix two minced garlic cloves with a tablespoon of sugar, two to three tablespoons of milk or unflavored yogurt and a pinch of salt. Massage your face especially the areas of the skin where the blackheads and whiteheads are present in circular motion for up to 60 seconds. Wash with lukewarm water.
Garlic And Nutmeg
Mix two crushed garlic cloves or a teaspoon of garlic oil with two tablespoons of milk and a quarter teaspoon of nutmeg powder. Spread the paste on your face and gently massage the skin in circular motion for 30 to 60 seconds. Leave the paste on your face until it dries out. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
