These lips balms uses natural ingredients like bees wax, Shea butter, coconut oil, and lemon juice that we must seek in any store bought lip balm. Also, you can give color and flavor to these with your lipstick or blush or nature’s color like beet root. Make sure that the color or product you use, do not contain any harsh chemicals. Now let’s go through the method of preparing these lip balms.
Let’s Prepare 5 Natural Lips Balms:
1. Petroleum Jelly Lip Balm:
This is the homemade lip balm from petroleum jelly. It does no harmful effects on the lips and make it completely reliable and effective to use at lips.
To form this lip balm, you need to take petroleum jelly into a microwave bowl. You can take as much quantity as you want. Shift the bowl into the microwave and wait for 25 minutes or until the petroleum jelly has melted. If you want color in your balm then you can use your lipstick or blush or eye shadow color for this purpose. In case, it is very difficult to mix then heat the jelly with the color for some time and then stir. If you want flavor in your lip balm, use lemon juice or orange juice, or cranberry juice or any other favorite juice of yours. Add it to the amount you want to have in your lip balm. Melt again into the microwave and then mix. There you go. Your lip balm is ready, try using on your lips or store into a container.
2. Coconut Oil, Beeswax Pastilles, Shea Butter:
This mixture has Shea butter, excellent for softness, beeswax, which works wonderful in protecting lips from harsh weather conditions and coconut oil that is essential for pigmented lips.
Take a double boiler and add 2 teaspoon of coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of cosmetic grade beeswax pastilles and 1 teaspoon of Shea butter. Allow it to melt over medium heat. It will melt slowly. Off course, you want the lip balm to be soft to use, therefore keep on stirring while it is melting. The mixture is to be stirred gently else it may make it too thick. Make sure that no water enters the mixture. If you want some color to the mixture then go ahead and use a tint of your blush or lipstick or gloss or eye shadow. Add it to the already melted molten mixture. Stir to mix the color. If it is difficult to do so then place the boiler on heat once again and then mix.
For fragrance or scent, you can mix few drops of your favorite essential oil like peppermint essential oil. Stir properly and heat for one last time. When the mixture has attained the consistency of the balm, try on your lips and store extra into a container.
3. Beet Root, Olive Oil, Beeswax And Lemon Juice:
This one is amazing for the overall condition of the lips. It has beetroot that you can use for its wonderful color, beeswax that is capable of protecting lips in any condition, olive oil known for its moisturizing quality and lemon juice that removes any discoloration from the lips.
Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil, & 1 teaspoon of cosmetic grade chopped beeswax to a double boiler. Allow these ingredients to boil over medium heat. Keep on stirring while the mixture melts. When it has melted properly, add few drops of beet root to it. Add while the boiler is still on heat. Also, keep on stirring. After some time of stirring, add ½ teaspoon of lemon juice. Stir to mix properly. Remove this boiler from the heat when the mixture has become soft and has acquired the consistency of the balm. Try on your lips and store the rest into a container.
4. Beeswax, Coconut Oil, Honey, Vitamin E Capsule And Essential Oil:
The cosmetic grade beeswax used in this acts as a great moisturizer and protects lips from harsh weather conditions, coconut oil protects the skin and moisturizes it, and honey hydrates the lips, vitamin e capsule free the lips from harmful radicals and prevent dryness while essential oils are mainly for fragrance.
Add one teaspoon of grated cosmetic beeswax into a double boiler. Allow to melt it over low heat. When half of the beeswax has melted, add little amount of raw honey and 1 teaspoon of organic virgin coconut oil. Make sure that the water does not enters the mixture. Keep on stirring while it is melting. Now open 2 vitamin e capsules and add its content to the mixture. Stir the mixture carefully so that no water enters it and it has also mixed uniformly. Your lip balm is ready now. Apply on your lips for testing and store the rest into a container and use when required.
5. Lemon Lime And Beeswax Lip Balm:
Lemon juice has the excellent quality of removing the dark pigments from the lips. However, it is not just the lemon juice but various other oils and solids that together form this lip balm. The natural oils are added for the softness while beeswax is used to thicken it and make it effective on the lips.
Take a bowl and add 2 teaspoon of coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of chopped cosmetic grade beeswax, 2 teaspoon of olive oil and 5 drops of lemon essential oil or lime essential oil. Mix all these ingredients once and then shift into the double boiler. This will help in slow melting of the lip balm over low heat. Now let the lips balm mixture melt on high heat. Boil the water so that the boiler kept above it lets the ingredients melt slowly. To form a thoroughly unified lip balm, keep on mixing while it is mixing. If you want color in your lip balm, consider adding some color from your lipstick or blush or eye shadow. However, it is best as natural and without color. Blend for some more time and there you have prepared your lip balm.
Let it cool for some time. Use when required else store into a container. Make sure that you use more of beeswax if you want the lip balm to be firm else if you want it soft then prefer adding more of oils before heating it.
