How To Treat Gum Pain With Simple Home Remedies
Gum pain is often accompanied by inflammation in the area which is the main cause of pain. Applying ice just on the outer facial muscle or cheek or if possible inside the mouth ( as per comfort), can help in treating gum pain.
Apply Tea Bags
Use black tea bags for the application, since black tea is rich in tannic acid which will help in reducing gum pain and also reduces inflammation. Black tea also helps in fighting different infections. You need to steep two tea bags for at least 15 minutes in hot water. Allow this to cool down and apply it on the painful gum for at least 5 minutes. You can apply this as many times throughout the day or when you feel the pain.
Apply Lemon Paste
You will need some fresh lemon juice and salt. Mix well and apply this on the painful gum. Let the paste remain on the gum for at least 10 minutes. You can then gargle using warm water and wash it off. It will remove all infections, help in reducing gum inflammation and offer relief from pain. Lemons are rich in vitamin C which helps in getting rid of gum infection, which is often the cause of gum pain.
Salt Water Rinsing
Salt water is often used for treating many gum problems which includes gum pain. In a glass of warm water, add two or three pinches of salt. You can gargle using this solution at least three times in a day or whenever there is pain in the gum.
Gargle or Drink Cranberry Juice
Cranberry juice is quite effective in treating pain caused due to gum infection or gum swelling. Cranberry juice is a rich source of vitamin C, which helps in treating gum pain internally. You can drink at least two tablespoons of cranberry juice daily, as part of your breakfast. This will prevent bacteria accumulation in the gum which causes pain. Alternately, you can gargle with cranberry juice which helps in removing bacteria sticking on to the gum or teeth which can cause pain in the gum.
Mix Coconut Oil and Baking Soda In Tooth Paste
Coconut oil is known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It is a natural treatment of gum pain. Baking soda helps in neutralizing acids present in the gum area which is also responsible for gum pain. You will need two tablespoons of coconut oil and a pinch of baking soda mixed well. You can use this mixture in your toothpaste. Use this to gently massage your gum area with the help of cotton. This will help in killing bacteria and remove gum pain.
You will need some good quality honey to massage your gums. Honey is known for its antiseptic properties and antibacterial elements. It helps in treating infected gums which are often painful. You can rub little bit honey on the gums. Honey massage will help in reducing inflammation and also painful gums.
