Oatmeal is known as one of the most effective exfoliating ingredient. It also contains anti inflammatory properties which calms the skin and treats the redness. It is suitable for every skin type. You can make a home made scrub by using oatmeal powder along with milk or honey or even rose water. Mix well and make a thick paste. Scrub your face with this mixture for 5 minutes and wash off with cold water.
Tomato belongs to Citric family which is rich in Vitamin C. It contains natural bleaching properties which exfoliates the skin gently and reveals fresh & Lighter skin tone. To use tomato as an exfoliator, cut it into two halves and sprinkle a pinch of sugar granules over it. Rub your face with it in circular motion till sugar dissolves. Wash off with cold water afterwards
3. Baking Soda
Baking soda is one as one of the best skin exfoliators. It is highly effective in removing the dead skin layer without irritating it. To use, Mix 2 tablespoons of Baking soda with water to make a paste. Massage it on your face for 5 minutes and wash off with cold water.
We all know coffee has great anti oxidant properties and contains caffeine due to which it is being used widely in anti ageing treatments. But coffee is also proven to be effective in exfoliation as well. It gently exfoliates the skin and reveals healthy and smooth skin. Mix Coffee powder into a water or in honey. Make a thick paste and scrub your face with it. You can also use this on your body as coffee is also good in treating the cellulite.
Pineapple is rich source of vitamin c and it contains Alpha Hydroxyl Acid in the form if Citric Acid. AHA are known for gentle exfoliation. Pineapple can be used as an exfoliator by mixing it with salt and rose water. Make a thick paste and massage your face for 5 to 10 minutes. Wash off with cold water.
Strawberry contains high amount of Vitamin C which is acidic in nature. It is great for oily skin and helps to remove the excess sebum from the face. It also helps in skin lightening.To use it as an exfoliator, Mix mashed strawberries with sugar and little rose water. Mix well to get a thick paste. Massage your face with it for 10 minutes and wash off with cold water.
Almond is a rich source of Vitamin E which nourishes your skin naturally. To use Almond as an exfoliator, Mix grounded almonds with rose water or milk and make a paste. Massage it on your face for 10 minutes in circular motion and wash off afterwards.
