7 Remedies To Get Rid Of Corns And Calluses

It is normal for an active person to develop corns. Although not fatal, it can go really worse if not sought a solution soon. The skin becomes hard and if not done anything that you might need to go for a surgery later. Corns usually happens when there is intense pressure on your skin and it accumulates to form a really thick layer. It usually happens underneath the feet or between the fourth or the fifth toes. On the other hands, calluses are no different than corns other than their big size and it mostly happens on the sole. Remedies To Get Rid Of Corns And Calluses:

1. Castor Oil

Castor oil has been in use since centuries.  The function of castor oil is to make the skin soft and remove the marks. Also, its usage as hair oil is very popular as it makes the hair soft and thicker. Here what you are using it for corns and calluses, so you have to apply it on your skin at least thrice daily. Believe it or not, it will help in easing out the pain as well as the mark associated with the problem. Simply, warm some castor oil and apply it on your skin. Massage for some time and leave it like this without washing off. Now repeat the same few times daily. Stick to this till the corn disappears.

2. Pumice Stone

The corn is nothing but the dead skin. The pumice stone is hard and very effective in taking out the dead skin.
All that you have to do in this step is to soak your feet into some warm water for about 3-4 minutes and then rub the pumice stone on the corn area. Rub it for about 2 to 3 minutes. You have to do this daily, until you get rid of the corn. Other than removing the corn, it will also keep the dead skin away. So you can use the pumice stone anywhere where you feel that the skin is tight and has dead skin accumulated.

3. Garlic

Garlic is long been known as a potent home remedy for a number of problems. It has various antiseptic, and toxin removal property that is extremely effective in keeping the health well and the skin free from germs and other problems be it corns. You have to crush the garlic first and then apply its juice on the affected portion. Once applied, make sure that it does not wipes by anything. To ensure that it stays on your skin, you can cover it with a crepe bandage. You can also use the half cut garlic to rub on your skin, covering in the same manner. Do this twice everyday till you get rid of the corns completely.

4. Baking Soda

Baking soda is another very powerful remedy against corns. It is long been known for its exfoliating property. Use it till you get rid of the problem and the mark as well. Moreover, baking soda acts as an antiseptic also that will remove the bacteria and the microbes and keep the area infection free. Into a cut, add one teaspoon of baking soda, and one teaspoon of lemon juice and the same amount of the warm water. Now apply it on the affected area with the help of a cotton ball and keep applied. You have to do the same remedy daily till you get rid of the problem completely.

5. Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is one of the common exfoliating agent helpful in removing the dead skin. It will take away the dead skin, provide a relief from the pain and also soothe the area. Also, it has antibacterial property that just adds to the benefit. Fill a basin with warm water and add Epsom salt to it. Now soak your feet into the water for some time preferably 15 to 20 minutes and then do it again for lesser time. Do the same remedy till you get relief of the pain as well as the problem.

6. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar works very affectively in exfoliating the skin and soften the corns and calluses. It has the antibacterial properties as well that is very helpful in cleaning it from the bacteria and other small microbes.  However it is suggested not to use apple cider vinegar concentrated else it may worsen the situation. Soak your feet in warm water for some time. It will make the skin very soft. Now take apple cider vinegar into a small cup and apply on the affected portion with the help of cotton. Keep it firmly pressed against the corn for at least five minutes. Wait for the solution to dry. After that you have to apply tea tree oil on the same portion. Make sure that you mix it with some kind of carrier oil first before you apply. Do not rinse the area but keep it applied. Also, do it every day till you finally get rid of the problem.
