8 Awesome Ways To Use Hibiscus For The Hair

From fiery red to an array of color tones, hibiscus is a beautiful flower that seen in various colors and usually grows  throughout the year. It  grows as a shrub and is also known as ‘rose mallow’. It works wonders when used on the hair as it is full of alpha Hydroxy acids, vitamins and amino acids, all  vital to the growth of hair. Various problems of the scalp and hair like hair fall, hair loss, premature hair graying can all be treated using its flowers and leaves. It makes the hair roots stronger and healthy by nourishing and conditioning the scalp. The locks become shiny and healthy. Let us see the various packs of this flower that can be used for the hair.

Hibiscus Soapnut Shampoo

Take a few 6  flowers, 1/2 cup leaves and 10 pieces of soapnut. Heat the flowers and leaves in 4 cups of water. Remove seeds of  soapnut and add the shells to this water and reduce it to half. Switch off the gas and let it cool. Mash the pulp well and strain to get the maximum benefits in the strained water. Now apply it on the hair and leave it for a while. It will become a little foamy on applying and cleanse the hair.Wash off. This mix can be refrigerated for further use.

Take 5-6 flowers and an equal quantity of leaves. Grind them to a thick paste. Add this mix to your shampoo and apply it on the hair. Let it stay for 5 minutes and then rinse. Can be used regularly for giving that added bounce to our mane.

Hibiscus Coconut Oil 

Take 8 flowers, 8 leaves and grind them together. Pour some coconut oil in a container, add the hibiscus paste to it and boil. Once it comes to a boil, turn off the gas. Let it cool. Now massage this oil thoroughly into the roots of the hair. It can be left for 30 minutes to 1 hour. It can also be left overnight. Oiling the hair regularly provides nourishment to the hair increases blood flow in the scalp and gives a boost to hair growth.

Grind some leaves and add 4 tablespoons of curd to make a thick paste. Apply this mix on the hair and leave it for at least an hour. Wash off the hair. This pack is enriched with minerals of both yogurt and hibiscus and therefore, provides tremendous benefits to the hair.

Hibiscus Fenugreek Anti-dandruff Pack 

Soak fenugreek overnight and grind it with hibiscus leaves. Now add some curd to make a thick pack. Apply it on the hair and rinse off after about an hour. Regular use of this pack helps combat dandruff in addition to providing nutrition required by the hair.

Hibiscus Henna Conditioner

Take 10-15 henna leaves with an equal amount of green hibiscus leaves. Grind them well. Add some lemon juice and apply to your hair as a conditioner. Wash after an hour. This pack gives a lovely henna tinge to the mane and makes hair healthy and strong.

Grind some  leaves and flowers together. Add a little water and put this paste on your scalp. This pack can be incorporated into the daily regime to make your hair look shiny and beautiful.

Boil 4-5 flowers in water till the water starts getting a reddish tinge. If you like add gooseberry to this boiling water. Turn off the flame and allow to cool. Now mash all the ingredients well before straining. This strained liquid can be applied to the scalp after a shampoo, as a conditioner to the hair. Rinse after a while.
