Diarrhea or loose motions as they are most commonly known as refers to frequent passage of stool which is watery. These watery bowel movements make us very tired and will lead to dehydration if not treated on time. The tiredness caused by diarrhea is due to loss of water and minerals from the body. It is therefore necessary that we treat diarrhea on time.
Here Are Few Simple Remedies To Tackle Diarrhea At Home.
1. Lemon Juice
Squeeze a lemon. Add 1 spoon of sugar and a pinch of salt to this extract. Add a glass of water to this and mix well. Drink this lemonade every 2-3 hours for 3 days. Lemon will help remove the toxin from your body and provide relief from the diarrhea.
2. Turmeric, Curd Drink
Take a cup of water. Add 2 table spoon of curd, 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, a pinch of asafetida and a sprig of curry leaves. Boil this mix well. Strain it and take a sip every half an hour.
Eat at least 2 pomegranates every day. The fiber rich fruit will help curb the diarrhea in 2 days. It will also help to restore the lost body fluids. You can also extract the juice of the pomegranate seeds and drink it.
4. Dry Ginger Powder
Prepare a glass of buttermilk. Add a spoon of dry ginger powder to this and mix well. Drink this every 3-4 hours. The ginger soothes the rumbling in the stomach while the butter milk helps restore the water balance in the body.
5. Raw Papaya
Grate 1 raw papaya and boil it well in 2 liters of water. Strain the mixture and cool it down. Take few sips every 1 hour. This will help control the watery bowel movements in 2-3 days.
Eat a banana with a cup of curd 2 –3 times a day. The minerals lost from the body will be replenished by the rich mineral content of the bananas. The probiotics in the curd will help to cure the diarrhea.
7. Milk And Lemon Cure
Squeeze the juice from half a lemon. Add this to a glass of cold milk. Stir well and drink immediately. Do not consume after leaving the mix for more than 5 minutes. Drink this mix every 2-3 hours.
Cut an onion into thin slices. Fry these in 2-3 spoons of ghee/clarified butter. Eat this fried onion with some boiled, plain rice.
