Give yourself a luxurious treat with this easy to make homemade bath melts. This bath time treat not only leaves your skin super soft but also leaves you deeply relaxed and smelling divine.
Organic cocoa butter-50 grams
Organic Shea butter -50 grams
Dried lavender flowers – 1 teaspoon
Organic chamomile tea- 1 teaspoon
Lavender essential oil
In a glass bowl, grate your cocoa butter to a fine powder. Add the Shea butter to the bowl.Place a pan with water on a burner and bring it to boil. When the water starts boiling, place glass bowl with the mixture on top of the pan. This process in called the double boiler method. Constantly stir the mixture until all the contents melt. Take the bowl off the heat and sprinkle 1 teaspoon of chamomile tea in it. Sprinkle the dried lavender flower and mix it nicely.
Pour the molten contents into silicon moulds (used for making chocolates and muffins) and add two drops of lavender essential oil per mould. Put the trays in the freezer to harden for about one hour. You can even use ice trays instead of silicon moulds. Pop the hardened melts when set and store them in airtight containers.
Drop one bath melt in a tub of warm water and wait for it to dissolve completely. Then step in and soak in the goodness of rich cocoa and shea butter. Be careful while stepping in your bath as the butters can make the tub slippery. To avoid your bath turning into a mess, wrap the melt in muslin cloth and put in your bath when water is running.
You can even use these melts as moisturizing bars. Simply glide the melts on your skin. Shea butter melts on body contact. Then massage the traces well for a soft and supple skin.
