Being well hydrated throughout the year and especially in summer is essential. Unless your body is well-hydrated, it will not function properly. Consuming water and fluid is necessary in summer when the heat is maximum and your body loses water through sweating. In summer, we need to increase our fluid intake. However, the amount of fluid we need to keep hydrated may vary from one person to another. At first you need to realize your lifestyle before measuring your fluid intake. A sporty person and exercise loving person need much more water than a common person as they sweat much in the time of playing or doing exercise.

However, you have to take special care to fill up the shortage of water in the body to prevent dehydration. How will you understand that your body needs water? Watermelon is amply available in summer which may be regarded as a pitcher of water. Apart from water content watermelon also contains vitamin A, C and different minerals which also work as electrolytes. Cut and peel a few slices of watermelon. Remove seeds. Add them in a blender. Add 1 tablespoon brown sugar and a few drops of lemon juice in it. Add pinch of salt in it. Blend them till they turn to fine juice. Add some crushed ice cubes in this juice and serve to drink. This melon juice serves to keep your body hydrated and give you a cool feeling. Drink two glasses of this juice daily to keep your body hydrated.

Yogurt is an excellent food in summer. It hydrates your body, supply lots of calcium and vitamin C to your body. You may make a special drink with this yogurt to keep your body hydrated throughout the summer. Take a shaker and fill up half portion of it with unsweetened and unflavored yogurt. Add pinch of salt in it. Adding sugar is optional. If you like sweet taste, add sugar according to your need. Now fill up the rest portion of the shaker with chilled water. You may add fresh mint juice in it. Now shake it well and serve it on a clean glass.

Green coconut water is much healthier than mature coconut water. The former is packed with antioxidants, amino acids, enzymes, vitamins and minerals like iron, calcium, potassium, etc.

Tomato chicken soup is an excellent food that keeps your body hydrated. Add some chicken pieces, chopped tomato, chopped celery, salt and water in a container. Keep the container on low flame for an hour. Then strain the water portion and eliminate the boiled chicken, and other vegetables. Grind them to paste and add the paste in the water portion.
