1. Apple Cider Vinegar:

You can use it by adding a little honey to half teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and drink it before having your meal. In addition, you can use it mixing one part of apple cider vinegar with two parts of cold water and Soaking a cloth in it. Put it on your forehead and stomach. Soak the cloth again, when it gets warm and repeat the process.

2.  Homemade ORS:

Oral Rehydration Solution is helpful in energizing your body by replenishing the fluids in body [2]. It reduces the intensity of typhoid symptoms at the great extent. You can make ORS solution at home. Add 6 spoons of sugar and half spoon of salt in 4 cups of water. Mix it well. Drink it several times until you recover completely. Or else, you can also mix one teaspoon of salt in a glass of water and heat it for about a minute. Drink it once a day, for three days regularly.

3. Banana:

Banana is considered as the most effective tool for typhoid [3]. It also has a compound called pectin that helps in absorbing liquid in the intestine. Bananas are also rich in potassium, which balances the loss of electrolytes during fever and diarrhoea during typhoid. You can either consume ripe bananas or add them to yogurt if you want. You can also mix the pulp of one banana with a cup of buttermilk, to bring down the fever in typhoid.


4. Buttermilk:

Buttermilk is easy to digest and helps reducing dehydration which further helps in typhoid fever [4]. Drink a few glasses of buttermilk for faster recovery after taking your meal. You may also add fresh coriander juice to buttermilk, to increase its effectiveness for better and fast recovery.


5. Cloves:

The essential oils in cloves are loaded and surrounded with antibacterial properties which are helpful in typhoid [5]. Thus, helps discard off the bacteria that cause typhoid. Cloves also reduce the symptoms of typhoid like diarrhoea and vomiting. Boil 5-6 clove buds in 8-9 cups of water until it is reduced to half. Cover it and allow it to cool for some time. Strain and drink it several times a day, for at least one week for good results.


6. Garlic:

Garlic helps in improving the immune system [6]. The antimicrobial properties of garlic fight off the typhoid-causing bacteria. Consume about 2 garlic cloves daily for a week, to get relief. You can also add half teaspoon of crushed garlic to a cup of milk and 4 cups of water. Boil it until it reduces to one-fourth of the original amount of the solution. Drink it minimum three times a day. Pregnant women and kids should avoid this.


8. Cranberries:

Cranberries have anti-parasitic properties which helps to avoid diarrhoea and minimize typhoid fever [8]. Besides, it also boosts the immune system to a great extent. This should be avoided for the pregnant women who are allergic to cranberries.


9. Lemon:

Lemon is a natural disinfectant, which contains citric acid and helps alkalize your gastrointestinal tract [9]. Squeeze a lemon in a glass of water, it can be hot or cold water and add honey to it. Drink it for a week, even after recovery for good result.


10. Pomegranates:
